Wonder Lake campground is at mile 85 in Denali National Park. It’s just about as far as you can go on the park bus and it takes about 5 hours to get there from the park entrance. It’s a beautiful oasis deep in the heart of Denali. We spent an evening trying to stay dry, cooking some food in the shelter by the tent area – a shelter that has amazing amenities to help keep the wildlife from accessing the food and trash. With the fog, the colorful tents dotting the hillside looked like something from a fairy tale.
Before catching the bus back to the park entrance, we hiked around the lake. I can’t even imagine how beautiful these views must be on a clear day.
