After one day running around Bangkok, we boarded the train in the early evening. We were exhausted, but also starving. We went cheap to save a little cash and booked the second class sleeper car. This 12hr ride is an experience in itself. The food was surprisingly good, the beds were comfortable when you’re at an all new level of exhausted, but you will not be sleeping on the sleeper train. It is an older train that constantly feels like it’s about to fly off the rails. You start to drift off to sleep and *clang, crash, bang* the train lurches to a stop. Then picks back up again.
It’s a good, cheap form of travel and an something I’m glad I’ve experienced, but I’m not rushing back to try it again.
